Using paracetamol or ibuprofen
I did more research on this because of Jeremy's fever. It's good to know that I don't have to give him paracetamol for fever less than 38.5 to 39C. Let the fever run its course.

Pumpkin Cake (allrecipes.com)
Found a very easy to make pumpkin cake. Doesn't require the use of a mixer. The most important thing is that Jeremy likes the cake. The first time I made it Jeremy had one slice before bed. Then he had a slice for breakfast the next morning.

How to Pop Popcorn | eHow.com
My friend Jenny told us how she popped popcorn on her stove top using a pot. So, I wanted to try as well. The first time I tried it, I coated the bottom of the pot with very little oil. My popcorn didn't pop nicely.
So I decided to look up the proper instruction on the net and found this page - How to Pop Popcorn | eHow.com. Very easy to do and Jeremy had fun watching the popcorns pop. And he loves eating pop popcorns.

How to raise a fun and funny child (babycenter.com)
Best ways to really crack them up (an excerpt from babycenter.com)
Celebrate silly holidays
Make the most of April Fools', with spirited — but never mean-spirited — jokes your children and you can play with one another. There are scores of other silly days to celebrate, including National Tell a Joke Day (August 16), Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19), Bathtub Party Day (December 5), National Chocolate Covered Anything Day (December 16), Fruitcake Toss Day (January 3), Backward Day (January 31), National Goof-Off Day (March 22), and Dance Like a Chicken Day (May 14).
Sing, sing, sing
Fussing babies usually light up with an animated round of "Old MacDonald," funny voices and all. The more animated and ridiculous you are, the better. Singing takes the edge off for older children too. "Instead of saying, 'march, march, march' to bed, which would just stress me out, we sing," says mother of three Diana Ballou. "I can get the girls from bath to bed in 15 minutes just by singing 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road.' And we're laughing our pants off all the way there."
Share funny stories
At dinnertime, tell your child anything silly you've seen during the day — a ridiculous street sign, something you overheard in the elevator. This is a great way to teach them about the fine art of conversation and help them see the light side of life.
Create funny traditions and rituals
"Every Christmas Eve, we let the children open their silly present," says Christina Tynan-Wood, who gave her 11-year-old son, Cole, an inveterate ketchup lover, a giant bottle of it a couple of years ago.
Watch funny movies"Give some of the modern Disney DVDs a rest and break out the classics like Abbot and Costello or the Three Stooges," says Momfidence author Paula Spencer. "Something with a lot of slapstick that isn't about laughing at someone's expense."
Create a fun center
"Have a funny corner in the house," says laugh psychologist Paul McGhee. "It's great to put up a bulletin board with funny articles from the newspaper."
Read funny books
To get your newborn grinning and giggling, read 97 Ways to Make a Baby Laugh by Jack Moore. For toddlers, read them anything by Sandra Boynton, who has a superb sense of the ridiculous. Preschoolers love the Dumb Bunnies books by Dav Pilkey. For older kids, try the Bunnicula books by James Howe, knock-knock joke books, and those all-time favorites, elephant joke books.

Hand Sanitizer Alcohol Poisoning

So, I've been using this a lot with my boy. And sometimes he'd eat some food right after I washed his hands with the sanitizer. I have never actually noticed him getting 'high' but it scares me to think of what could have happened if...
From now on, I'd use wet towels to wash his hands and only use hand sanitizer as a last resort but with caution.

Pray for Kate McRae
I read about this little girl in my babycenter.com newsletter. Please pray for her recovery.
YouTube video
Kate McRae is a 5 year old Phoenix girl who is fighting a brain tumor. This is a video of her parents taken the day before her surgery. Please pass this video on, post it on your blog, Twitter the link to your community, put a Pray for Kate deal on your Facebook, pass it along to any prayer chains and let's ask God to heal this little soul.

Group games
I was looking for great ideas on group games for the upcoming ISRC Family Day when I stumbled upon this website -- http://www.group-games.com/.
Many great group games in the site. However, I could only find a few that are suitable for our events.

This piece of news saddened me as the student and especially her baby shouldn't have died. The circumstances of her death is still unknown. However, if she had only gone to a proper clinic or if she had called or told someone both of them would still be alive.
Of course the society would probably talk (not necessarily good) about her, her baby and her family but they'd be alive. The baby would have had a chance to experience life.

This article got me wondering if our local pools here in KK are well maintained. Maybe the pool at the Sports Complex isn't as clean as it should be, especially the kids pool. The last time I was there with Jeremy, there were tree leaves in the pool as well as some kind of debris.
The pool at KGC looks clean but sometimes I could smell the distinct smell of chlorine. At least this pool is used by less people. So, logically it's cleaner. At least to me it is.

Shopping with recycle bag
I went grocery shopping today and I remembered to bring my recycle bags with me. I feel quite pleased with myself that I only used 2 plastic bags (both for vegetables). At least a marked improvement to my usual grocery shopping where I have to carry 3 to 4 plastic bags back to my car.
Hopefully I'll be able to remember more often in the future to use the recycle bags.
Now I've got to start recycling at home!

Lunch with colleagues
Had lunch with my IT colleagues this afternoon to celebrate my birthday. We shared 4 regular pizzas among the 6 of us. We had Super Supremes, Thai Seafood, Royal Masala & Hawaiian Supreme. I ordered the Office Deal #1 which also comes with 2 1.5L Pepsi and 2 Garlic Breads. All came up to RM77. Not a bad deal!

Birthday lunch at McD
Viv spent me lunch at McD this afternoon. We both had Filet-o-Fish meal with fries and coke. And then before we left Api-Api Centre, we each bought a cone of softserve ice cream. Yummmy... We did wish the other members of the gang were around. Thanks for for lunch Viv.

New Love of Rules
I was just reading about how kids love rules and how they can be stricter than their parents about rules -- in one of my newsletter from babycenter.com.
"Rules keep life better organized and more efficient for all of us. They also let kids know what's acceptable and what's not. You already knew that — but did you know that 4-year-olds adore rules? They love the confidence they get from knowing the ropes. In fact, their respect for rules can sometimes border on the obsessive — kids can be stricter than their parents about making exceptions!" ~ My Preschooler This Week newsletter
Yup, I agreed about them being stricter than their parents. Jeremy sometimes can be strict about his car seat belt. Sometimes I forget to strap his belt and when I'm about to move, he'd shout at me 'mommy, seat belt!'.

Camera Baptism
I baptised my Olympus MJU Tough 8000 for the first time today. I was a bit apprehensive about it but once the camera was dried it was working as normal. Phew!
I had to rinse the camera because Jeremy sprayed some sand on the camera (and me) while I was taking his pictures.
